A mt bike or mountain bicycle (abbreviated MTB or ATB (all terrain bicycle)) is a bicycle achieve for off-road cycling, including jumps, and traversing of rocks and washouts, and raised declines, either on muddy trails, logging roads, or other unpaved environments. Bicycles typically used for mountain biking need to be able to withstand off-road use and the exceeding of checks such as logs and rocks.

Most mt bikes use wheels with cycle rims which are 550-559mm in ISO sizing. This periphery rim size is colloquially referred to as “26 inch”, although the term is inaccurate as it chronicles too many rim and tyre sizes to be meaningful. Bicycle wheels used on mt bike generally use wide, knobby tires for additional traction and shock absorption. In the current century, front wheel suspension has been reduced to the norm and full front and rear suspension has become increasingly common. Some mt bikes are also fitted with bar ends on the bike handles to give extra leverage for hill-climbing.

I have come here a couple times for simple repairs on my Specialized Stumpjumper mt bike when I didn’t have the parts required to do such repairs by my self. The owner and staff are all young and very friendly and know their stuff. The emphasis here seems to be on road bikes and somewhat on BMX, which is refreshing in and of itself. Westside Park is not far away and has a ramp frequented by BMX kids so I imagine they have found something of a spiritual home here also. That said, their team is a very welcome to the scene in Gainesville.
